Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha – Consul General of Vietnam in Perth praised the competitive spirit and efforts of the Vietnam Women's National Team at the tournament. According to Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha, despite facing many strong opponents in the continent, the players competed with high determination, contributed hard-fought matches, helped spread a positive image of Vietnamese women's football, and fostered connections with the Vietnamese community in Australia.

After arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, the team members parted ways to return to their localities. The group of players and coaching staff from the northern region continued their connecting flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, scheduled to land at 22:35 PM on the same day. Concluding their journey at the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup Finals, the players will return to their respective clubs to prepare for upcoming professional tasks.

Vietnam Women's National Team could not squeeze through the narrow gap after suffering a heavy 0-4 defeat to Japan, thereby stopping at the group stage of the 2026 Women's Asian Cup and also losing hope of securing a ticket to the 2027 Women's World Cup Finals. This is a sad ending for both Coach Mai Duc Chung and the golden generation of the Vietnam Women's National Team.

Previously, Coach Mai Duc Chung stated he planned to step down after completing his mission, giving opportunities to the next generation.“After this tournament, I will also step down. I am very happy that soon there will be someone to replace me to continue leading the Vietnam Women's National Team.”
