Vietnam unexpectedly wins 2-0 against South Korea's team.

The Vietnam U20 women's team achieved a 2-0 win against the first team of the KSPO women's football club (South Korea) in a friendly match during their training camp in China, as part of preparations for the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup finals.

From the very first minutes, both teams entered the match with high speed and organized their play quite tightly. Against opponents with good professional quality, the players of Vietnam U20 women's team played with focus, maintained reasonable team spacing, and were proactive in contested situations.

After a first half without goals, Vietnam U20 women's team created a turning point early in the second half. In the 51st minute (the 6th minute of the second half), from a corner kick situation, Khanh Vy leaped high and headed accurately, opening the scoring for the red-shirted team.

With a leading goal, the students of coach Okiyama Masahiko continued to maintain disciplined gameplay and actively pressured the opponent's defense. From an effective pressing situation by the Vietnam U20 women's forward, the opponent's defender made a careless back pass that confused the goalkeeper, creating an opportunity for the Vietnam U20 women's team to score another goal, sealing the 2-0 victory.

During the match, the Vietnam U20 team not only organized tight defense but also proactively regained possession to launch effective counterattacks, while gradually adapting well to the pace of the game.

Regarding the opponent, the KSPO women's club is a collective with high professional quality, possessing speed, individual technique, and excellent short-range coordination. However, with unity and determination, the Vietnam U20 women's team achieved a positive result.

According to the training plan, the Vietnam U20 women's team will have one more final friendly match against a Chinese women's football club on March 14 to refine their skills.

After the training camp ends, on March 15 the entire team will return to Vietnam and relocate their training base to Ho Chi Minh City to continue the final preparation phase before departing to participate in the 2026 AFC U20 Asian Cup finals. In the two-week sprint period, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team are expected to have two more high-quality friendly matches against the Uzbekistan U20 women's team on March 24 and March 27.
