Before coach Kim Sang-sik announced the list, TP.HCM Club revealed two young faces, including a goalkeeper born in 2008 and a defender born in 2006, summoned to Vietnam U23 preparing for CFA Team China 2026.
On the homepage, TP.HCM Club announced: “Congratulations to Truong Nhac Minh (2006) and goalkeeper Hoa Xuan Tin (2008) being called up for duty with the National U23 Team in the first session of 2026.” This is considered an important step in the careers of the two young players, as they have the opportunity to test themselves at a higher level wearing the Vietnam U23 jersey.
Especially, goalkeeper Hoa Xuan Tin is a name receiving much attention. Born on January 29, 2008, the young goalkeeper possesses a height of 1.87m and is evaluated as one of the promising goalkeepers of Vietnamese football. Xuan Tin previously impressed strongly wearing the Vietnam U17 jersey at the 2025 Asian U17 Championship. In the first two matches of the tournament, he was trusted by coach Cristiano Roland to be given the starting goalkeeper position and performed excellently, contributing to helping Vietnam U17 draw with Australia U17 and Japan U17 with a score of 1-1.
Besides Xuan Tin, defender Truong Nhac Minh is also a notable face. The player born in 2006 possesses a height of 1.81m, highly evaluated for his good physique and solid defensive ability.
The upcoming training camp of Vietnam U23 is scheduled to take place on March 17 in Hanoi. Compared to the squad participating in the previous Asian U23 Championship finals, this list has many changes as coach Kim Sang-sik decided to promote some key players of the U23 team to the National Team.
Besides players from TP.HCM Club, many other clubs also have representatives participating. Ninh Binh FC announced three players Thanh Trung, Le Phat, and Van Thuan will join Vietnam U23 after the National Cup quarter-finals. The Cong Viettel FC also has three names including Manh Hung, Dang Duong, and Cong Phuong.
After about one week of training, Vietnam U23 will travel to participate in the CFA Team China 2026 friendly tournament held in Xi'an (China) from March 25 to 31. The tournament involves 4 teams including host China, Vietnam, Thailand, and North Korea competing in a single round-robin format to determine the final ranking.
Providing opportunities to many young players, including Hoa Xuan Tin and Truong Nhac Minh, is part of VFF's long-term plan to build a successor force for the national team, while preparing personnel towards major goals like ASIAD 2026 in the coming time.
