Head coach Okiyama Masahiko stated that the Vietnamese U20 women's players demonstrated a positive competitive spirit in the friendly match.
Against opponents with superior physique and stamina, the Vietnamese U20 women's team started proactively, organized a tight playing style, and diligently executed attacking strategies. However, in the first half, the opposing team effectively capitalized on an opportunity to score an opening goal, thereby taking a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the Vietnamese U20 women's team pushed their formation higher, actively seeking an equalizer. Despite creating several notable situations, Coach Okiyama Masahiko's players still could not penetrate Beijing Women's Club's defense. The match concluded with a 1-0 score favoring the home representative.
Evaluating the match, head coach Okiyama Masahiko said the players displayed a positive competitive spirit and showed many improvements while playing with a determined attitude, particularly their organized defensive ability was quite good.
“In the early stage of the match, the team conceded a goal but quickly adapted to the pace of the game and showed clear progress during the match itself. Counter-attacking situations were deployed; there were several fairly clear opportunities but they were not converted into goals. Overall, the team demonstrated good competitive spirit and executed the tactical plan quite well. The whole team is playing exactly according to the style set by the coaching staff,” Coach Okiyama Masahiko shared.
Commenting on the opponent, the Japanese tacticianrated Beijing Women's Club as a team with fast speed, good technique, and an impressive physical foundation. According to the training plan, the Vietnamese U20 women's team will continue to have two more friendly matches to refine their skills. Specifically, on March 12, the team will face a South Korean women's club, and on March 14, they will play against a Chinese women's club.
After concluding the training camp, on March 15, the entire team will return to Vietnam and relocate their training base to Ho Chi Minh City to continue the final preparation phase before departing for the tournament. In the two-week intensive period, Coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team are scheduled to have two high-quality friendly matches with the Uzbekistan U20 women's team on March 24 and March 27.
